Welcome to GuitartownCT in Hamden, Connecticut, ...with generous support from Neighborhood Music School of New Haven, a vibrant arts community, teaching over 2,500 students annually in classical, jazz, and roots music, and dance.
Back by popular demand: Virginia-based roots duet of Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish blend new Americana and traditional folk music in all original songs. Their high lonesome vocal blend and instrumental talents fill the room with feeling, that lingers long after the show is over.
Jim Hurst & Rob Ickes. "The Dynamic Duo" Jim Hurst might be the best finger style guitar player around today. Tony Rice said "He's the best guitarist I've heard in 35 years!" Also a great bluesy singer and fun loving entertainer. Rob Ickes is the most awarded instrumentalist in bluegrass history, IBMA "Dobro Player of The Year" fourteen times. Won two Grammys, has played with almost every star of bluegrass and country. Watch & Listen:
Rhonda Vincent & The Rage The most celebrated band in bluegrass, with over seventy awards to their name. Rhonda won seven consecutive IBMA Vocalist of the Year awards. Dubbed "The New Queen of Bluegrasss" by the Wall Street Journal, she puts on a great live show. She'll do a lot of bluegrass, a little country and some gospel too. A very rare New England appearance. |
